Consecration of Shwe Dagon Pagoda

at Lumbini Natural Park, Brastagi - North Sumatera

Consecration of Shwe Dagon Pagoda was held for two days at Lumbini Natural Park, Brastagi - North Sumatera, Indonesia, morning 8:00 am to 10:30, then offering lunch to the monks, and afternoon 1:00 to 5:30 pm.

In the First-day morning section, there was Opening Ceremony, Welcoming of five sangha-rajas - (Myanmar, Thai, Laos, Srilanka, and Indonesia), Candle Lighting Ceremony, Welcome Speech, reading of Congratulatory Messages from different countries, Chanting of Buddha-puja (country by country), Souvenir Hand Over to HE Mr. Surydharma Ali, Minister of Religious Affairs of Indonesia by Mr. Tongariodjo Angkasa, SE, MBA, MM (Chairman of Central Organizing Committee) and Accepting Award from Indonesia's Museum of Record by Mr. Tongariodjo Angkasa.

In the First-day afternoon section, there was Group-photo Documentation Session, Keynote Speech by Sitagu Sayadaw, reading of Congratulatory Messages from different countries, Chanting of Buddha-puja (country by country), paper reading session - 'The Anscentrial Stupas of Shwe Dagon' by U Win Mg (Tampavati, Mandalay), 'The Significance of Stupas in Buddhism' by Dr. Dhammapiya (Professor of International Theravada Buddhist Missionary University).

In the Second-day morning section, reading of Congratulatory Messages from different countries, Chanting of Buddha-puja (country by country), and paper reading session - 'Buddhism in South East Asia' by Ven. Anil Sakya Sugandho, 'Borobudur-Paths to Enlightenment' by Dr. Titus Leber, 'Initiative of Theravada Buddhism in Indonesia' by Mahasi Sayadaw of Myanmar, read by U Aung Thein Nyunt, and 'Building a Common Platform to Live Harmoniously in Society where People have different Religion' by Jan Spalek, read by Dr. Nandapala.

In the Second-day afternoon section, paper reading session - Buddhism and the World Wide Web by Ven. Pannavaro, panel discussion, led by Ven. Anil Sakay Sugando (Summery of the papers), Chairman (Dr. Guna Ratana, USA), and Co-charimen (Ven. Sugandho, Dr. Satyapala) and panel members (Ven. Pannavaro, U Sai Aung Tun, U Aung Thein Nyunt, Dr. Dhammapiya, U Win Maung, and Dr. Titus Leber, then Concluding Remarks by Dr. Satyapala (President of India Sangha Council), Vote of Thanks by HE Drs. Budi Setiawan, MSc (Director General of Buddhist Community Guidance) and Closing Speech by Sitagu Sayadaw followed by reciting of three verses of Bhavatu Sabba Mangalam.

In conclusion, this great gathering of 1500 monks, Theravada and Mahayana from different countries, was marked as historic event in Indonesia and given thanks to all the members of the Central Organizing Committee, members of Taman Alam Lumbini and Members of Metta Center, who had made the participants felt comfortable.

May the Buddha Dhamma prevail in its pristine purity in the world.

မစၥတာ တြန္ဂါရီယိုဂ်ဳိ အန္ကာဆာ-မိသားစု၏ ရက္ရက္ေရာေရာ သာသနာေတာ္အား ခ်ီးေျမွာက္ေထာက္ပံ့မႈေၾကာင့္ အင္ဒိုနီးရွားႏိုင္ငံ၊ မီဒန္ျပည္နယ္ရွိ၊ ဘရာစတာဂီျမိဳ႕ျမိဳ႕တြင္ ေရႊတိဂုံေစတီေတာ္ျမတ္ၾကီးအား (ေရႊတိဂုံေစတီပြါး) ႏိုင္ငံေပါင္း ၂၅-ႏိုင္ငံမွ ေထရ၀ါဒ၊ မဟာယာန၊ ၀ဇိရာယာနစသည့္ သံဃာေတာ္ေပါင္း ၁၅၀၀-တို႕ျဖင့္ ခမ္းနားထည္၀ါစြာ ဗုဒၶါဘိေသကပူဇာ အေနကဇာတင္ပြဲေတာ္ၾကီးကို ျခိမ့္ျခိမ့္သဲ ပူေဇာ္ခဲ့ၾကသည္။

ထိုပူေဇာ္ပြဲၾကီး၌ သံဃာေတာ္အရွင္ျမတ္ အသီးသီးတို႕က ႏိုင္ငံအလိုက္ ဗုဒၶပူဇာ-အေနကဇာတင္ျခင္း မဂၤလာကို ရြတ္ဖတ္ပူေဇာ္ခဲ့ၾကသည္။ ထို႕အျပင္ ႏိုင္ငံအသီးသီးမွ အင္ဒိုနီးရွားႏိုင္ငံသို႕ ၾကြေရာက္ေတာ္္မူလာၾကကုန္ေသာ သံဃာေတာ္မ်ား၏ စုေ၀းရာ မဟာသံဃာသႏၷိပါတ-အခါ၀ယ္ ပညာရွင္အသီးသီးတို႕၏ သမိုင္းတြင္ရစ္မည့္ စာတမ္းဖတ္ပဲြကိုလည္း အံ့ၾသဘနန္း ထူးဆန္းစြာ ဆင္ယင္ က်င္းပခဲ့ၾကသည္။ (၂၀၁၀-ခုႏွစ္၊ ေအာက္တိုဘာလ ၃၀-ႏွင့္ ၃၁-ရက္ေန႕)
